27 Weeks

Baby Update: 27 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights from this week:

How far along? 27 weeks

Size of the baby? As big as a head of cauliflower, about 2 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Yes! And they are so comfy!

Gender? Sweet baby GIRL!!!!!!!

Movement? Oh yes. Lots of movement! She is very active and I love it!

Sleep? This week has been pretty good. I wake up a couple of times every night but can't complain.

Cravings? No cravings this week. I am not as hungry these days. I also get really full pretty fast when I eat so I am not eating as much these days.

Symptoms?  This week I felt pretty good.

What I miss?  Don't really miss anything right now.

Milestones? Making it to the third trimester!!!!!

What I am nervous about? Keeping her in there as long as possible. We go back to the doctor on Wednesday to see if anything has changed. I am praying that I don't have to go on bed rest but of course I will do anything to keep her in as long as possible.

What I'm excited about? Making it another week. I am now officially in my third trimester!! If she stays put as long as she is suppose to I only have 13 weeks left! It has really started to go by faster and I am really excited about that.

My sister came to visit last week and I was so happy to have her here! She cooked the most delicious food while she was here. I really enjoyed spending time with her and was really sad when she left this morning. I wish we lived closer.

Here I am at 27 weeks. I know. . . getting LARGE!!! She is totally worth every pound :-)

Erica and me

We did a little shopping yesterday and I couldn't resist these. I am not big on baby girls wearing bows or headbands but these were just so sweet!!!

Hope you have a great week and a Happy Memorial Day!!

26 Weeks

Baby Update: 26 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights from this week:

How far along? 26 weeks

Size of the baby? As big as an eggplant. 9.2 inches, 2 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Yes! And they are so comfy!

Gender? Sweet baby GIRL!!!!!!!

Movement? Oh yes. Lots of movement! I love to sit on the couch and watch her kick and move and see my stomach move on the outside. Grant got to feel her kick this week and that was really neat :-)

Sleep? It's ok. I still wake up several times during the night. Grant bought me a snoogle for Mother's Day and that has really helped! For those of you that are not familiar with what that is, it is a really long pillow that looks like a C. It supports my head, back and belly and goes between my legs. I never thought I would be so excited about a pillow but it helps me sleep better!

Cravings? No cravings this week. I am not as hungry these days. I also get really full pretty fast when I eat so I am not eating as much these days.

Symptoms?  This week I felt pretty good.

What I miss?  Don't really miss anything right now.

Milestones? Making it to 26 weeks :-)

What I am nervous about? We went back to the doctor this past Wednesday for a follow up to check to see if there had been any changes to my cervix. Thankfully nothing had changed. That was such wonderful news! We had the sweetest sonographer. We told her that we had an ultrasound of the baby last week but she was being stubborn and wouldn't turn her head so we didn't get to see her face. She said she would do another one and see if she could get us some pictures of her. We got to see her and she had grown and changed so much! She even yawned while we were watching and it was so sweet! She looked good and was measuring right at 50% in everything. We are praying that there are no changes and praying that she will stay put. Every week she stays in there is a blessing.

What I'm excited about? Making it another week. Our doctor said that our first milestone is making it to 28 weeks. Once we make it to 28 weeks, survival rate goes up to 90%. Every week is a blessing to us and we are praying that she will stay put as long as she can. I have been taking it really easy. I am still working but not doing much when I am off work. My doctor said she really doesn't want to put me on bed rest so she is checking me every week to see if there are any changes. As long as there are no changes, I won't have to go on bed rest.

Mom and Dad were here for the past ten days and were so much help. They cooked and cleaned so much. Our freezer is completely stocked with meals which will be nice in the next couple of months when I start getting more tired and not wanting to cook as much. They also bought us the glider for her room! We ordered it from Pottery Barn Kids and it should be here in about 5 weeks. Here is the glider we ordered. We got it in gun metal gray canvas.

Here are a couple of pictures we got of baby girl last Wednesday. In the first picture she was smiling!! Of course, we think this is the sweetest thing in the world :-) The pictures look a little distorted on the blog but you can kind of see her face and what she looks like. We think she looks just like her daddy!!!

A couple of pictures from my parents visit. .

26 Weeks!! The bump is definitely sticking out now. Feeling a little plump everywhere else too ;-)

My sister is coming on Thursday for a few days and I am really excited about that!!! After she leaves, we won't have anymore visitors until our girl's arrival!! Can't believe we are getting close!

Have a good week!

6 years!!

Six years ago today we got married! I really can't believe that it has been six years. We have been through 5 moves, 3 states, 5 jobs and now have a baby on the way! I wouldn't want to experience any of these things with anyone else. I am so happy to share my life with Grant and can't wait to see him as he takes on the role of being a Dad in a few short months. I am so thankful for our relationship and feel so blessed that God chose him for me to share life with. I am looking forward to many more years!

24 Weeks

Baby Update: 24 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights from this week:

How far along? 24 weeks

Size of the baby? As big as an ear of corn, 12 inches and just over 1 1/4 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Yes! And they are so comfy! I can still wear some of my regular shirts, but all maternity pants.

Gender? Sweet baby GIRL!!!!!!!

Movement? Oh yes. She has been quite active this week. I love it!!

Sleep? It's ok. I wake up a lot. I am a back sleeper and you are not supposed to sleep on your back after the first trimester. When I go to bed I start out on my side with pillows behind me so I won't roll over. Well, it never fails that when I wake up during the night I am on my back. I toss and turn a lot during the night and can't seem to get comfortable. I guess this is my body's way of getting me used to waking up with our girl once she is here!

Cravings? Noodles with broccoli and lemon juice and baked BBQ chips. Totally random!

Symptoms?  This week I felt good. Thank goodness!

What I miss?  Don't really miss anything right now.

Milestones? Making it to 24 weeks :-) 16 weeks to go!!!!!

What I am nervous about? I had a little scare last week. I had some pretty bad cramps last Thursday night that lasted about 30-45 minutes. They went away and I went to bed. The next morning I felt completely fine. I couldn't help but be a little worried so I called my doctor. She asked if I wanted to come in and get checked out since it was about to be the weekend. I went in and she said everything "felt" fine and seemed to be ok but she wanted me to get an ultrasound to measure my cervix. During that ultrasound it was discovered that my cervix has gone from 3.5cm to 2.6 cm since my first ultrasound. She said that I was still ok with that number but because it has changed so much since my initial ultrasound, she wants to monitor me a little closer. Of course I got upset and was very concerned but she assured me that at this point I have nothing to be worried about. She wants to see me this Wednesday for another ultrasound to check the measurement again and then I will more than likely be seen every 2 weeks. Please pray that I get good news at my appointment. We need our girl to stay put until August!!

What I'm excited about? So much! Another week closer to meeting our girl. Also, we have narrowed her name down to two names!! This is a big accomplishment for us. This has by far been the hardest thing yet. It's such a big decision. Hopefully we will make up our minds soon so I can start monogramming her some bibs, burp cloths and other sweet things! I'm also excited because my parents are coming Thursday!! We haven't seen them since Christmas and are so excited!!!

I don't have a picture tonight but will get one this week. Trust me. My bump is there and getting larger each week!

Have a great week!!
