26 Weeks

Baby Update: 26 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights from this week:

How far along? 26 weeks

Size of the baby? As big as an eggplant. 9.2 inches, 2 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Yes! And they are so comfy!

Gender? Sweet baby GIRL!!!!!!!

Movement? Oh yes. Lots of movement! I love to sit on the couch and watch her kick and move and see my stomach move on the outside. Grant got to feel her kick this week and that was really neat :-)

Sleep? It's ok. I still wake up several times during the night. Grant bought me a snoogle for Mother's Day and that has really helped! For those of you that are not familiar with what that is, it is a really long pillow that looks like a C. It supports my head, back and belly and goes between my legs. I never thought I would be so excited about a pillow but it helps me sleep better!

Cravings? No cravings this week. I am not as hungry these days. I also get really full pretty fast when I eat so I am not eating as much these days.

Symptoms?  This week I felt pretty good.

What I miss?  Don't really miss anything right now.

Milestones? Making it to 26 weeks :-)

What I am nervous about? We went back to the doctor this past Wednesday for a follow up to check to see if there had been any changes to my cervix. Thankfully nothing had changed. That was such wonderful news! We had the sweetest sonographer. We told her that we had an ultrasound of the baby last week but she was being stubborn and wouldn't turn her head so we didn't get to see her face. She said she would do another one and see if she could get us some pictures of her. We got to see her and she had grown and changed so much! She even yawned while we were watching and it was so sweet! She looked good and was measuring right at 50% in everything. We are praying that there are no changes and praying that she will stay put. Every week she stays in there is a blessing.

What I'm excited about? Making it another week. Our doctor said that our first milestone is making it to 28 weeks. Once we make it to 28 weeks, survival rate goes up to 90%. Every week is a blessing to us and we are praying that she will stay put as long as she can. I have been taking it really easy. I am still working but not doing much when I am off work. My doctor said she really doesn't want to put me on bed rest so she is checking me every week to see if there are any changes. As long as there are no changes, I won't have to go on bed rest.

Mom and Dad were here for the past ten days and were so much help. They cooked and cleaned so much. Our freezer is completely stocked with meals which will be nice in the next couple of months when I start getting more tired and not wanting to cook as much. They also bought us the glider for her room! We ordered it from Pottery Barn Kids and it should be here in about 5 weeks. Here is the glider we ordered. We got it in gun metal gray canvas.

Here are a couple of pictures we got of baby girl last Wednesday. In the first picture she was smiling!! Of course, we think this is the sweetest thing in the world :-) The pictures look a little distorted on the blog but you can kind of see her face and what she looks like. We think she looks just like her daddy!!!

A couple of pictures from my parents visit. .

26 Weeks!! The bump is definitely sticking out now. Feeling a little plump everywhere else too ;-)

My sister is coming on Thursday for a few days and I am really excited about that!!! After she leaves, we won't have anymore visitors until our girl's arrival!! Can't believe we are getting close!

Have a good week!
