Olivia Cate - One Month Old!

Olivia, you are one month old! How is it possible? This past month has gone by so quickly.

Some things about you in your first month with us.

• At your two week appointment with Dr. Ferguson, you weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces
• You were 21.75 inches long
• You are not a big fan of your passy unless you are very sleepy
• You love to take a bath. If you are crying, the second we put you in your tub you stop. 
• You do not like to have a dirty diaper.
• We have increased your bottles to 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. 
• You slept for 5 straight hours this week and your Momma and Daddy were happy about that! 
• You have started staying awake longer during the day but you fight sleep and it makes you fussy.
• You do not like your crib. We try to put you down in there sometimes and you do ok until you realize you are in there. 
• You love your swing and spend most of your time in there. 
• You sleep in the bassinet in our room sometimes and seem to like it ok.
• You are still wearing newborn diapers and clothes and a few 0-3 month clothes.
• You like to be held.
• Some nicknames we like to call you: Doodlekins, Doodles, Livie, Livie Bear, Bug, Angel, O, Sweet Girl.
• You like your car seat and sometimes when you are really fussy we put you in there and it calms you down. 
• You love to go for rides in the car.
• When you are fussy, you liked to be held and like for us to walk around with you. If we sit down, you start fussing again.
• You love music and this week we discovered you like Jack Johnson.
• You like to be outside and it seems to calm you down if you are upset. 
• You have smiled a few times and it melts my heart every time. 
• I kiss your cheeks about 5,463 times a day. They are so soft and I love them!

My sweetest Olivia,

One month ago our lives were changed forever when we met you. Although we have only known you for a short time, we can hardly remember what life was like without you in it. You complete our little family and we love you so much. We thank God for you every day. You are an answered prayer and our hearts are full. We are excited to learn more about you and watch you grow. We love you so much.
